About your Reiki Practitioner:
The Rev. Dr. Lindsay Bates received her first Reiki attunement in 1999 and has been practicing Reiki ever since. She earned her Reiki Levels I, II, III, and III-Master Teacher certifications from Reiki Master Teacher Lynsi Carter Brulé Eastburn over a two-year period of practice and study. Dr. Bates completed the Reiki and Medicine Intensive program with Reiki Master Teacher Pamela Miles in March 2018. In March 2019, she studied with Reiki Master William Lee Rand at the International Center for Reiki Training, receiving full certification for Levels 1, 2, Advanced, and Reiki Master in the Usui/Holy Fire® III Reiki system. In 2020, Dr. Bates earned her Reiki Master certification in Karuna (Tibetan for “compassion”) Reiki from William Lee Rand.
Dr. Bates has used Reiki regularly, doing self-Reiki daily and sharing the practice as part of her work as Senior Minister at the Unitarian Universalist Society of Geneva (1978-2018). She joined Dr. Giles’s Wheaton practice as Reiki Master Teacher & Practitioner in 2016.

Reiki is a Japanese spiritual practice that brings about physiological results, including deep relaxation and easing of discomfort. It brings the body systems into balance, activating your body’s own healing powers and improving your ability to function physically, emotionally, mentally, spiritually. Reiki is a noninvasive complementary healing modality that may be an enhancement to, but not a substitute for, conventional medical or psychological diagnosis and treatment.
Reiki is transmitted by gentle touch or by the placement of the practitioner’s hands just above the recipient’s body. Reiki touch is not massage and will never be in any way inappropriate. The recipient must give informed consent to Reiki touch.
For the protection of all parties, our facility, with th exception of the restroom, is protected by continuous video recording. Cameras are set for video only and no audio is recorded.
An inherent risk of exposure to Covid-19 exists in any setting where more than one person is present. Our practice follows all recommended precautions and rules regarding protecting public health. However, you voluntarily assume all risks related to exposure to Covid-19 or any similar illness should you visit our facility in person rather than online.
The recipient will always be treated with the utmost respect. Any information shared by the recipient will be held in confidence in accordance with State and Federal Law.
Reiki is not held out with the intent to diagnose, cure, treat or prevent any medical or psychological problems. Your Reiki practitioner does not prescribe or perform medical treatment. She will not prescribe any substance, nor will she evaluate or interfere with the treatment provided by a licensed health care professional.
No promises of particular outcomes or claims of miracles or cures are made, either expressly or implied. You are advised to see a licensed healthcare professional for any physical or psychological ailments or concerns.
I, the undersigned, do confirm that I have read and I clearly understand the above Disclaimer statement. I understand that my session will be video-recorded, and I give my consent to Reiki treatment.
